Falling Car Sales Cause For Concern

The houses and finance markets aren't the only victims of the credit chew. The UK motor industry is in turmoil after a 21.2% drop in car sales on this in the good old days b simultaneously last year.

Even the lure of a new registration wasn't enough to raise sales, comfort brands being the worst hit. Land Rover's sales were down 49.7% on last year, whereas Vauxhall prostrate 16.5% and Jaguar rode 3% due to the release of the new XF fount.

The motor industry is now asking for government help to ease it recover from the crisis.

It's not just new 4x4 which are suffering wither, dealerships dispatch that they are having difficulty shifting part-ex Freelanders too. Classified adverts aren't doing too well either if the below are anything to go by:-

Land Rover would be one of the greatest beneficiaries should the government opt for a package similar to the US, where government bolster will enable manufacturers to more rapidly develop environmentally thick programmes. This is due to LandRover's current research into this area, such as the LRX concept carrier, which is designed to be smaller and more fuel efficient than current models, whilst aiming to top government targets for CO2 emissions.

This smart compact crossover coupe is Gerry McGovern's first concept mechanism since becoming Land Rover's design head. As such, it provides a revealing look at where Land Rover may be heading, at least stylistically.With an underlining on luxury and performance, the LRX concept places a special stress on weight reduction with polycarbonate windows that are 40 percent lighter than field-glasses.The interior features various recycled materials, the carrier was on display at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.
