The Amazing Race 13 - Episode 2

Aired 10-5-08

Last week ended at the Genius Sao Marcelo in Salvador, Brazil.  There the teams had a necessary 12 hour rest period.  This allowed for great deal of drama between Terence and his girlfriend Sarah.  We saw a crying Sarah powerful Terence that she wants to be with him but she also wants to be able to interact with other teams.  She thinks he’s acting betrayed every tempo she does.  Terence was pouting through the whole thing and ended up walking away saying he had to use the bathroom.  It was very unshaken-aggressive and very Terence.  My dislike for him continues.

The next be wary on the journey was a 600 mile flight to Fortaleza, Brazil where they had to take a taxi-cub to the village of Cumbuco and locate a plaza with the clue box.  Each side was given $125 for this leg.  Brother/Sister together Nick & Starr were the first to leave at 4:07AM.  Beat a hasty retreat explained that their dynamic was that Starr gets worked up in situations that she can’t domination and he acts as a calming influence.  The next team to premier to the airport, at 4:13AM, was separated husband and wife, Ken & Tina.  They wish this trip to decide the fate of their marriage.  Ken explained that, “She doesn’t inadequacy a life sentence and neither do I.  We want life partners.”  Terence and Sarah followed at 4:18AM.  The Terence stage show got an early start as he bumped his head on the trunk lid of the cab.  He was afraid with Sarah for not seeing the gravity of his injury and had her do everything just shy of kissing it to make amends move aside it better.  Really, I’d slap him. 

Pay attention to & Bill, the self-proclaimed comic book geeks, departed at 4:24AM and were regard lucky that, as best friends, they weren’t saddled with the same relationship issues as some of the other teams.   Kelly & Christy, the divorcees, were 5th and progressive at 4:44AM.  They were feeling confident because they are a team that knows what they need.  Mother and son team, Toni & Dallas, leftist at 4:57AM and continued to be very cute and sweet.  Frat brothers Andrew & Dan Heraldry sinister at 5:03AM with Dan thinking they needed to change their team mentality from “don’t be last” to “be first”.  Aja & Ty, in 8th spot, left at 5:05AM.  Aja believes that the race is making their extended-distance relationship seem more “real”.  Anthony & Stephanie communistic at 5:11AM putting them in 9th place.  Stephanie wants to get married and wants the monetary security that winning the race would give them.  In last place, southern belles Marisa & Brooke, left-hand at 5:13AM.  They were feeling down about being last but decided it meant they had to business harder - and be sneakier and more aggressive.
